Abstract

Psychological stress is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease (YUQTK), but the results differ depending on how stress is measured and the strength of dependence. In addition, despite ten years of research, mechanisms and potential causal relationships remain speculative. Physiological responses to stress are well studied, but their contribution to the development and outbreak of cardiovascular disease has received little attention in empirical research. Evidence shows that physiological responses to stress play a key role in cardiovascular disease risk and that hemodynamic, vascular and immune disorders caused by stress are especially important. The physiology of the stress response is regulated by the corticallymbic areas of the brain that go to the autonomous nervous system. Dynamic disorders of vegetative, immune, and vascular functions under the influence of chronic, repetitive, and cumulative stress may also be the mechanisms for the risk of cardiovascular disease, but more evidence is required from prospective studies and realistic assessments.
